BECOMING A TEACHER WHO LEAVES A LASTING MARK

The biggest problem of the global education system is to prepare young people for a future that cannot be fully predicted. The pace of the world’s change not only surprises everyone, but also leaves us all stunned and helpless. For example, some of today’s 10 most demanding professions were barely known 15 years ago. In 15 years, 60 percent of young people will work in professions that currently don’t exist. In addition, existing professions will be transformed and they will be conducted differently from today. This means that we are training our children to work in jobs that don't actually exist, to use technologies that haven't been invented yet, and to solve problems we don't know.

In such a world, the traditional education system based on transferring knowledge has vanished. However, families continue to impose the algorithm that was relevant to their own development processes on educational institutions and their children. Intelligence matters little and academic achievement makes a moderate effect regarding the life success. In such a world, modern teachers are faced with the difficult task of changing not only the mindset of the young people for whom they are responsible for their education, but also of their families.

This presentation will focus on two main concepts that will play a key role in the relationship teachers will establish with students and their families. In this way, they will learn the basic skill for becoming teachers who leave lasting marks on their students, as they enable their students to reflect their potential to life.
